This makes it easier for you to associate database tables with the respective plugins and themes they belong to or used to belong to and find those that you can delete.

1. How to use the list
So that you can get to your goal faster with the list and free your WordPress database of unnecessary tables, I have put together a small guide for you to use:
1.1 Create a database backup
Before you change anything in your database, you should always create a backup of it or make sure that your automatic backup is up to date!
Because it can always happen that you accidentally delete one or more wrong database tables.
Attention: If you delete database tables, the settings of a plugin may be deleted. If you intend to use the plugin again later, you should not delete the associated tables for now.
1.2 Open PHPMyAdmin and your plugin list
Once you have created a backup, open your database in PHPMyAdmin and your plugin list in WordPress at the same time.
To open PHPMyAdmin, you need to log into your web host's customer area and go to your databases. There you will usually also find a link to PHPMyAdmin.

If your hoster uses Plesk as the administration interface, you can find PHPMyAdmin here:
1.3 Search for the tables or plugins in the list
Next, step through your database tables to find tables that are no longer used.
All database tables that do not belong to WordPress' own tables (see point 2) are potential candidates for deletion.
Copy out the table name (without the prefix) and search the name with STRG/CMD + Fhere in the article.
For example, in the following example, you could B. ewwwio_imagesSearch for in the list:
Note: All table names are listed without a prefix. The prefix in the example table above would be
wp_(the default prefix in WordPress databases).And if you are now using an image optimization plugin other than EWWW Image Optimizer, you can delete all the associated tables, i.e. and in our wp_ewww_images example wp_ewwwio_queue.
Alternatively, you can look for plugins at the bottom of the list that you know you once installed and no longer use, and then look in PHPMyAdmin for the appropriate tables.
1.4 Tip: Use Advanced Database Cleaner Pro
Step 1.2 and 1.3 are easier if you use Advanced Database Cleaner Pro . Because with it you can delete database tables directly in WordPress without having to log into PHPMyAdmin:
The plugin can also scan your database tables and assign them to your plugins.
In our example, it recognizes that the EWWW Image Optimizer tables do not belong to any installed plugin:
Please note that Advanced Database Cleaner Pro does not always map all database tables 100% correctly. It happens from time to time that database tables are assigned to the wrong plugin or recognized as "orphan!", although they are actively used.
However, there is an option to set the mappings yourself using the bulk editing option “Edit categorization”, which can make it easier for you to maintain your database in the future.
For example, for the following three tables from Real Cookie Banner, which the scanner could not assign correctly or with 100% certainty:

In general, WordPress plugins take up a lot of database space that logs website visitors or their actions. This includes:
